Southern Civil Rights Movement:The Pivotal Role of Young People

Exploration of the history of the Southern Civil Rights Movement focuses on the contributions and sacrifices made by young people during this tumultuous time. The workshop includes classroom discussions led by faculty of the Hamer Institute and select guest speakers; oral history panels featuring insights of those who participated in civil rights activities in Mississippi; group and individual projects; and visits to several civil rights landmarks.
