Goals

 

The major goal of the Industrial Technology Program is to produce competent technologists capable of competing in the modern global market, and with skills that qualify them for managerial, supervisory and production concurrently to prepare them for continuing life-long learning careers, if they so desire. 

 

Program Mission

 

The mission of the Industrial Technology Program is to provide a nationally accredited program, which serves the technical, managerial, and communication needs of persons desiring to enter or advance professionally in an industrial technology related career. The JSU IS&T programs will:

Prepare our graduates to meet employer expectations for competent professional, and ethical practice.

 Prepare our graduates to pursue advanced studies in the areas of technology or other fields.

 Prepare our graduates to adopt and continuously practice life-long learning and continuing education.

Concentrations Missions

The mission for each concentration is provided below:

Computer Technology Concentration Mission

The mission of the Computer Technology Concentration is to produce well trained graduates. The program continually adjusts its curricula to deal with constant changes in information technology, and to be able to assess the effectiveness of faculty’s teaching and students’ learning. The program recruits motivated and capable students. Faculty and staff members retain these students through excellent teaching, active academic advising, and social interaction among their peer and the faculty.

Electronics Systems Technology Concentration Mission 

The Mission of the Electronic Systems Technology Concentration is to provide a recognized and meaningful undergraduate educational program with an emphasis in electronic engineering technology; and conduct professional development and other activities to meet the needs of the local community, including both the private and public sectors.

Emergency Management Technology Concentration Mission 

The mission of Emergency management is to prepare students in dealing with and avoiding risks. It also prepares students in preparing for disaster before it occurs. It focuses in operations, management, planning and response, and terrorism and is designed to provide students with a global outlook, interpersonal skills, and emergency management knowledge and skills.

Technology Management Concentration Mission

The mission of The Technology Management concentration is to set a stern foundation and integration of management in technology while building your skills and knowledge in industrial system design, concepts of project management, and labor and industrial relations and management.
