Inaugural Induction Ceremony
History was made on October 18, 2014 when Jackson State University had the distinguished honor of celebrating its’ scholars for the first Inaugural Induction Ceremony for Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association of Jackson State University.
The first HBCU to house the elite honor society, Jackson State University, was given an important task of not only inducting its’ historic new members, but also presenting the association to potential new members and persons not familiar with the organizations’ history. Although well attended, the events most notable attendees were President Dr. Carolyn W. Meyers, Provost and Vice President Dr. James C. Renick, and Special Assistant to the Provost Dr. Priscilla Slade, whose office lead the charge in establishing the association on campus for the university.
Also, notably the President and Provost were inducted as honorary members and presented with the certificate of charter by guest speaker Ms. Onjalai Flake, Associate Director of Regional and Chapter Services, Division I for Phi Theta Kappa Association. To that end, please join us as we congratulate Jackson State University and its’ well deserved honorees for their excellence in hard work and dedication!!!
