The J-Volunteer Program

You Can Volunteer!

The Jackson State University Welcome Center is seeking volunteers to serve as tour guides and/or assist with other activities hosted by the University. Our tour guides are known as J-Volunteers and they are primarily retirees and other individuals who enjoy volunteering their time to conduct campus tours for prospective students and their families, alumni and friends of JSU. 

J-Volunteers enjoy walking as a means of physical exercise and they also enjoy interacting with a diverse group of visitors from around the world.  Our tour groups are relatively small, 12 or less, and the tour generally lasts about an hour. Our volunteers do not conduct tours every day although many of them volunteer as often as possible to exercise and meet new people.
