The goal of the Community Outreach and Information Sharing Core is to support efforts by community health professionals and agencies, lay health workers, and lay community leaders in their efforts to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities, focusing on our home state of Mississippi. A major aspect of this Core is the subcontract between the Center ( Jackson State University ) and the Jackson Medical Mall Foundation to develop an urban Area Health Education Center, focusing on the Jackson metropolitan area.
The Community Outreach and Information-Sharing core component of the Center is directed by Mohammad Shahbazi, Ph.D., M.P.H., C.H.E.S., Associate Professor, Department of Behavioral and Environmental Health.
