felix.a.okojie@jsums.eduOver the past twenty-five years, Dr. Felix Okojie has served in several administrative, research and professional capacities at universities and government, including Senior Research Associate at Atlanta University, and Education Technologies at the Mississippi State Department of Education. He has been proactive in providing administrative, academic and research leadership in several disciplines including Science and Technology, Health Sciences, Liberal Arts, Business, Education, and Social Sciences. In the past fifteen years, he has devoted considerable energies to the growth of research programs at Jackson State University. He is playing leadership roles in funding and ongoing implementation of several research centers including National Center for Biodefense Communications, Mississippi Urban Research Center, Center for Defense Integrated Data, Institute for Epidemiology and Health Services Research, Jackson Heart Study Coordinating Center, Center for Nanotoxicity, Center of Excellence for the Study of National Disasters, Coastal Infrastructure and Emergency Management, and negotiated several large contracts with federal agencies.
Dr. Okojie’s portfolio at the University includes administrative oversight over the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Research and Federal Relations, and the Division of Student Life.
