EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS
NASA/JSU Educator
Resource Center offers a wide variety of educational materials. ERC
materials reflect NASA research and technology development in such
curriculum areas as life science, physical science, astronomy, energy,
earth resources, the environment, mathematics, geography, and careers
in aerospace. Materials include: Video Programs, 35mm slides, Curriculum
Materials/Lesson Plans, and NASA Publications
Video
Tape Programs
NASA
produces numerous educational video tapes. Most of these videotapes
are approximately 30 minutes in length. Subject areas represented
include Aeronautics, Astronomy, Biology, Space Science, Careers, Mars
Missions, Earth Resources, International Space Station, Living in
Space, Mathematics, Physics, Social Sciences, What's in the News,
and more. NASA/JSU ERC does not sell or lend video tapes. However,
we do maintain a wide selection of over 400 videotape titles. Educators
visiting our center are welcome to make an appointment to preview
and/or duplicate these tapes. Educators may also purchase video tapes
directly from NASA CORE.
35mm
Slides
NASA offers
a wide variety of educational slide sets. These sets cover such areas
as
Aeronautics,
Astronomy, Earth Science, Geography, Microgravity, Propulsion, Space
Exploration, and more. NASA/JSU ERC does not sell or lend slides.
However, the ERC does maintain a large collection of 35mm slide sets
which come with written scripts or audio cassettes as well as over
1500 individual slides. Educators visiting our center are welcome
to make an appointment to preview these slides. Educators may also
purchase slide sets directly from NASA CORE.
Curriculum
Materials/Lesson Plans
Educators
may review and duplicate lesson plans and curriculum materials related
to the space program while visiting the ERC. The materials are classified
by grade level and subject area. A range of curriculum support material
is also available on-line through NASA Education Materials.
NASA
Publications
NASA educational
publications, lithographs, and posters are available to visiting teachers.
In addition to NASA publications, the ERC has a selection of other
aerospace reference and educational materials. Educators can use these
materials to research a variety of aerospace topics.
