EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS

NASA/JSU Educator Resource Center offers a wide variety of educational materials. ERC materials reflect NASA research and technology development in such curriculum areas as life science, physical science, astronomy, energy, earth resources, the environment, mathematics, geography, and careers in aerospace. Materials include: Video Programs, 35mm slides, Curriculum Materials/Lesson Plans, and NASA Publications

Video Tape Programs

NASA produces numerous educational video tapes. Most of these videotapes are approximately 30 minutes in length. Subject areas represented include Aeronautics, Astronomy, Biology, Space Science, Careers, Mars Missions, Earth Resources, International Space Station, Living in Space, Mathematics, Physics, Social Sciences, What's in the News, and more. NASA/JSU ERC does not sell or lend video tapes. However, we do maintain a wide selection of over 400 videotape titles. Educators visiting our center are welcome to make an appointment to preview and/or duplicate these tapes. Educators may also purchase video tapes directly from NASA CORE.

35mm Slides

NASA offers a wide variety of educational slide sets. These sets cover such areas as Aeronautics, Astronomy, Earth Science, Geography, Microgravity, Propulsion, Space Exploration, and more. NASA/JSU ERC does not sell or lend slides. However, the ERC does maintain a large collection of 35mm slide sets which come with written scripts or audio cassettes as well as over 1500 individual slides. Educators visiting our center are welcome to make an appointment to preview these slides. Educators may also purchase slide sets directly from NASA CORE.

Curriculum Materials/Lesson Plans

Educators may review and duplicate lesson plans and curriculum materials related to the space program while visiting the ERC. The materials are classified by grade level and subject area. A range of curriculum support material is also available on-line through NASA Education Materials.

NASA Publications

NASA educational publications, lithographs, and posters are available to visiting teachers. In addition to NASA publications, the ERC has a selection of other aerospace reference and educational materials. Educators can use these materials to research a variety of aerospace topics.
