RESEARCH FOCUS AND INTERESTS

The laboratory of Phytoceuticals, Cancer Prevention and Therapies- Our long-term research goal is to characterize mechanisms involved in tumorigenesis and to develop novel phytochemotherapies for the treatment and/or prevention of cancer; the development and therapeutic index assessment of novel plant-derived agents as candidates for breast cancer prevention and/or therapies. Molecular, Biochemical, and cell biological experimental strategies and mouse xenograft model are also utilized for screening potential drug candidates.

Patents

  • A novel method for producing cyclic 3’-5’ Adenosine Monophosphate Extracellularly

  • (Pat # 6541196)

  • A novel Phytochemotherapeutic agent for breast cancer (Patent # 6,713,098)

  • A novel Phytochemotherapy (Edotides) for breast cancer (Patent #6,849,604)
