Porterfield, Interim Director<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif\">The Center for Academic and Professional Success (CAPS) is a comprehensive College of Business resource center that focuses on preparing students for their entry into the business world.\u00a0 The Center is comprised of the Student Professional Development Services, Student Advising and Retention Services, and Student Career Management and Placement Services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif\"><strong>STUDENT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif\">Student Professional Development Services is designed to provide students instruction in a series of professional development courses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif\"><strong>STUDENT ADVISING AND RETENTION SERVICES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif\">Ms. Jacqueline Triplett-Spires, Coordinator<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif\">Student Advising and Retention Services assists students with a wide range of advisement services, programs, and activities.\u00a0 It also directs students to their major department where they will be able to receive detailed academic advisement from their faculty advisor.\u00a0 The office works with student retention efforts in the College of Business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia,serif\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/business\/career-management-and-placement-center\/\"><strong>CAREER MANAGEMENT AND PLACEMENT SERVICES<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;line-height: 1.6em\">The purpose of Career Management and Placement Services is to provide students with a wide-range of career-related services whether they seek experiential learning experiences in business organizations, permanent employment opportunities in business and industry, or advanced study opportunities in graduate school.\u00a0 Students are provided with a variety of career and<\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;line-height: 1.6em\"> employment-related tools, resources, and interview opportunities. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CENTER FOR ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS (CAPS) Dr. Sheila C.
