On-Campus Access

Students can access the JSU network as normal with their NetID and password.


Off-Campus Access

Students should use their home internet service to access CANVAS and other JSU online resources.  If you do not have a home internet service, you may use your mobile devices as hotspots if your plan has the Personal Hotspot option. Data charges may apply.  Listed below are some of the free Internet options available for students with limited or no Internet access:

Altice USA brings free Sudden link broadband to K-12 and college students during Coronavirus Pandemic. Altice USA is committed to helping schools and students stay connected during this unprecedented time. For households with K-12 and/or college students who may be displaced due to school closures and who do not currently have home internet access, we are offering our Altice Advantage 30 Mbps broadband solution for free for 60 days to any new customer household within our footprint. Starting Monday, March 16, 2020, eligible households interested in this solution can call 888-633-0030 to enroll. (Suddenlink is the Altice provider for the Greenville area and neighboring states)

AT&T Customers – AT&T is waiving data overage fees to all customers so that families and students can stay connected during the pandemic. The company is promising not to terminate the service of any customer over the next 60 days.

Charter – Charter is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households. (Available in north Mississippi and neighboring states)

Comcast/Xfinity- Comcast/Xfinity is also offering services through its “Internet Essentials” program. To sign-up go to Also, Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers.
