The Jackson State University Department of Public Safety’s vision is to support the\u00a0administrative, educational, and financial performance of the University and provide\u00a0a safe and\u00a0healthy campus community for faculty, staff, students, patrons, and visitors. The department’s\u00a0efforts include preventive measures such as crime prevention education and enforcement\u00a0(campus policing), which promote awareness and individual responsibility in an effort to\u00a0prevent criminal and safety mishaps.<\/p>\n
The Jackson State University Department of Public Safety provides safety for its faculty, staff,\u00a0students, patrons, and visitors. To do this, the DPS offers an array of services:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Full service police department staffed with police\/security officers, criminal
\ninvestigators, certified dispatchers, and other support staff
\n\u2022 Provides routine patrol of the campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
\n\u2022 Responds to calls for service from the campus community
\n\u2022 Provides law enforcement personnel for events occurring on and off campus<\/p>\n
