\n\tWriting-to-learn activities are short, informal writing tasks that help students think through key concepts or ideas central to a course. Quite often, these activities require very little class time or can be assigned as short, out-of-class writing.<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tWriting-to-learn activities serve to meet primary content synthesis and comprehension goals through writing. This toolkit is md signed to assist faculty as they add writing-to-learn activities in their courses. We offer these suggestions to make use of the documented efficacy of writing-to-learn activities in enhancing learning.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThis toolkit provides a great deal of information on writing to learn (WTL), including a examples, implementation tips, writing-to-learn activities using the iPad, discussions of how to assess writing-to-learn assignments, and links to scholarship on incorporating writing-to-learn activities into courses and evaluating writing-to-learn activities.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
