Span of Responsibility: Daily oversight of 700 volunteers, in 67 countries, and 6 continents of Team FREDNET, The Open Space Society, Inc., a 501 (c ) (3) non-profit corporation headquartered in Huntsville, AL vying for the 30 million Google Lunar XPrize by successfully landing a robot on the moon, which will travel 500 meters and stream video back to earth by 2015.

Interface with all the Scientific Research Universities with whom Team FREDNET is connected, i.e. CalTech’s Dr. Mike Brown (the one who killed Pluto) who serves as the Team’s Chief Scientist. Dr. Brown taught a course specifically addressing the design of the robot for Team FREDNET’s robot. www.teamfrednet.org

Dr. Brown, in speaking about the new course, states: “The students here are extremely excited by the possibility that something they start working on in the class room might eventually take them all the way to the moon.”
