The purpose of Fire and Life Safety policy is to ensure that standards are met, and violations and hazards are addressed. Staff on hand provide training to departments by request. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Fire and Life Safety Services includes:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Fire Detection Equipment (smoke detectors, heat sensors, fire alarm panels, etc.)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Fire Suppression Systems (fire pumps, extinguishers, sprinklers and halon systems)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Electronic Access (keyless access)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"#Top\">^ <\/a><a href=\"#Top\"><span style=\"color: #000033\">back to the top<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"Environmental Health\" name=\"Environmental Health\"><\/a><span style=\"color: #000033\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,helvetica,sans-serif\">Environmental Health<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Our environmental health services includes:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Custodial Services<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Inclement Weather<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Pest Control<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Custodial Services:\u00a0<\/strong>The Custodial Services Unit is outsourced to SSC Service Solutions (SSC).\u00a0 SSC has the responsibility of providing a clean environment for office spaces, classrooms and the residence halls conducive to employee productivity and providing a comfortable atmosphere for students. Services are provide from:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">weekdays \u2013 7:00 a.m. \u2013 3:30 p.m.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">weekends \u2013 7:00 a.m. \u2013 11:00 a.m.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">Inclement Weather:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">FCM&#8217;s responsibility in inclement weather situations is to make sure\u00a0 safe areas are identified and at a constant state of readiness. Should a natural disaster strike, FCM engages in response and recovery operations. We encourage you to review the &#8220;Areas of Refuge&#8221; to become familiar with designated safe zones. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Pest Control:\u00a0<\/strong>Pest Control Services are provided by a service contract and managed by the Department of Facilities &amp; Construction Management. Infestation of pests in a building, is considered an emergency and should be reported to the Customer Care Center immediately at extension 2522. Requests for extra services should be submitted via the iService Desk.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"#Top\">^ <\/a><a href=\"#Top\"><span style=\"color: #000033\">back to the top<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000066\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,helvetica,sans-serif\"><a id=\"Access Control\" name=\"Access Control\"><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000033\"><span style=\"font-size: 24px\"><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms,helvetica,sans-serif\">Access Control<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Our Locksmith technicians maintain efficient and effective operation of door locking hardware across campus, to provide a safe and secure environment for University personnel and the public. We install, service, re-key and maintain door locks, exit devices and electronic locking devices on University buildings. In addition, the Locksmith also assists in maintaining the campus-wide keyless access control system.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Via our TMA system, we maintain an extensive database of University buildings and key data, issuing and returning building keys to students, faculty, staff, vendors and contractors.
