These rights and responsibilities of students on financial aid are listed in the following Jackson State University&#039;s catalogs:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/graduateschool\/graduate-catalog\/\">&nbsp;Graduate Student Catalog&nbsp;<\/a>\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/admissions\/files\/2017\/03\/JSU-Catalogue-whole-book.pdf?x59239\">Undergraduate Student Catalog<\/a>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong><em><u>Students &ldquo;Rights&rdquo; Related to Financial Aid<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tStudents have the right to know the:\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n\t\tCost of attendance.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tApplication process to follow to be considered for financial aid and deadline dates.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCriteria used to select recipients and calculate financial need.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tJackson State University&rsquo;s refund and repayment policy.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tFinancial assistance available at Jackson State University.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tThe procedures and deadlines for submitting applications for financial aid.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tHow financial aid recipients are selected and awarded.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tHow eligibility is determined, including all resources available.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tLoan information: amount, interest rate,&nbsp; repayment options,&nbsp;forbearance and deferment provisions,&nbsp;etc.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWhen and how funds will be disbursed.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tPolicies relating to accepting or declining loan award offers.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSpecial facilities and services available for special needs students\/the handicapped.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tAn explanation of each type and amount of the financial aid award.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tFederal Work Study job description, the hours required to work, the rate of pay, and how and when paid.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tJackson State University&rsquo;s Standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tHow to request a review of a decision by the Financial Aid Office concerning the aid package.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong><em><u>Students &ldquo;Responsibilities&rdquo; Related to Financial Aid<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tStudents have the responsibility to:<em>&nbsp;<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n\t\tRead, understand, comply with the terms and conditions of the financial aid award, complete forms accurately.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tKeep copies of documents signed and comply with all published deadlines.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSubmit information requested by the Financial Aid Office in a timely manner.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tKnow the cost of attendance and how and when funds will be disbursed.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tComplete an Entrance Interview session if accepting a&nbsp;student loan award offer.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tComplete an Exit Interview if you withdraw officially or unofficially from the University.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tKeep the Financial Aid Office informed of any changes in status, for example enrollment,&nbsp;marital status, and financial situation.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tMaintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and financial aid eligibility requirements.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tRe-apply for financial aid each year.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tKnow the repayment or overpayment guidelines for financial aid.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tInform the Financial Aid Office of any assistance received from any non-university sources (scholarships, educational benefits, etc).\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tKnow student loan information for example, interest rate,&nbsp;when repayment begins, repayment options,&nbsp; forbearance and deferment provisions.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tReport to the Lender(s) any changes in address and enrollment status.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tKnow the job description, hours to work, rate of pay and how and when paid from the Federal Work Study.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tKnow and comply with all rules, regulations and requirements for the financial aid.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n\t<strong><em><u>Method of Disclosure<\/u><\/em><\/strong><strong><u>:<\/u><\/strong><strong><em>&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/em><\/strong>All Consumer Information and communications and notifications will be sent via the student&rsquo;s email and campus newsletters to all enrolled students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Rights and Responsibilities As a recipient of financial aid, there are certain rights and responsibilities of which students should be aware.
