To meet this requirement, submit copies of the following immigration documents:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">Your stamped I-20 (F-1 Students)<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">Your <a href=\"https:\/\/i94.cbp.dhs.gov\/I94\/#\/home\">Form I-94<\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">Your Passport with current VISA.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">Receipt for payment of SEVIS I-901 fee.<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">Local and foreign contacts.\u00a0 (People to contact in case of an emergency.)<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">Dependent documents, if your dependents have entered the U.S. with you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">Check-In fulfill\u00a0a requirement of your F-1 student status and allows us to report that you are maintaining student status. For more information on the JSU ID Card Policy, please contact the JSU DPS at (601) 979-2580 or the Division of Student Life at (601) 979-2241 or click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/campuspolice\/id-card-policy\/\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">GET ON CAMPUS POST OFFICE BOX<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">Each student is provided a mailbox, which is located in the J. R. Reddix Hall. \u00a0All students who reside on campus are required to have a post office box. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/housing\/mail\/\">here<\/a> for more information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">ATTEND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">The International Student Orientation (ISO) is for all newly-admitted international students at Jackson State University. Orientation is offered by JSU Global in cooperation with many other JSU offices. JSU Global ISO includes various topics such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">How to adjust to life at JSU<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">How to comply with government regulations pertaining to your stay in the U.S.;<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">Learn about on-and off-campus resources and support services; and<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\">Meet new people and make friends from around the world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The orientation is designed to acquaint international exchange, introduce students to campus resources, American customs and lifestyles, visa and immigration issues, the Jackson area, and other JSU students. Make plans to attend. Participation in the orientation program is required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">SUBMIT PROOF OF HEALTH INSURANCE TO JSU GLOBAL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">J<\/span><span id=\"E92\" style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">ackson State University requires<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">\u00a0al<\/span><span id=\"E94\" style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">l international students and their dependents<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\"> to\u00a0have health insurance that includes repatriation and medical evacuation coverage. It is important to make every effort to be insured during your entire stay in the U.S. Purchasing appropriate insurance is the only way to protect against unforeseen medical bills. You are responsible for purchasing and sustaining suitable health insurance. Below are some companies listed for your convenience and consideration, note that the <u><strong>Jackson State University maintains no association, recommends or endorses any of the\u00a0plans or\u00a0companies. Choosing one of the companies\/plans is the decision and responsibility of the student.<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.isoa.org\/\">ISO Student Health Insurance<\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/compassstudenthealthinsurance.com\/\">Compass Benefits Group<\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.culturalinsurance.com\/\">Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI)<\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buymembership.internationalsos.com\/\">International SOS<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Once you have obtained medical insurance submit proof of health insurance to JSU Global ISSS office.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">HAVE A<\/strong> <strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">TUBERCULOSIS SCREENING WITH CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI HEALTH SERVICES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">All students are required to have a chest x ray for tuberculosis. Jackson State University has partnered with Central Mississippi Health Services to offer students discounted rates of $75. Fees must be paid at the time of service and you MUST use Central Mississippi Health Services. Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/healthservices\/\">JSU Health Service Center<\/a> to schedule a time for your TB chest x-ray appointment. TB screenings from other schools or clinics are not accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">CHECK IN WITH AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADVISOR EACH SEMESTER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">All students are expected to come to the office and the beginning of each semester to update their I-20 (example: address, phone number, hours currently taken) to register their SEVIS record. Student must bring, passport, visa, I-94 and class schedule.
