Some are more advanced while others are developing. Public Health\u2014 A Global Perspective compares health systems and public health status between a developing country with a huge population and Mississippi. Through didactic lectures and field visits to public, private, and other health facilities and hospital in Hyderabad, students will learn first-hand the current status of public health issues, its future challenges and compare and contrast prevalent illness in Mississippi and Hyderabad. Additionally, students will be exposed to the cultural heritage (music, dance, and historical places) of Hyderabad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About The City<\/strong><br \/>\nHyderabad, known as the City of Pearls, is the fourth-largest cosmopolitan city in India and is at the heart of India\u2019s rapidly developing global economy. The city, once ruled by bejeweled Nizams from opulent palaces, is now a global hub for biotechnology, animation industry, information technology, amazing food, and a travel destination for domestic travelers looking to absorb its unique architecture and art. The city is an urban mix of construction, music, clothing shops, inconceivable traffic, food bazaars, department stores, global businesses, and city sprawl. It is the capital of the southern state of Telangana and embodies the juxtapositions of old and new, north and south, Hindu and Muslim. It\u2019s home to offices for Microsoft, Google, and other techno giants \u2013 and also to ruins of the magnificent 13th-century Golconda Fort and iconic Charminar monument in the Old City.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Overview<\/strong><br \/>\nPassport to the World takes place during the first summer term at JSU. Two weeks are spent on campus and two weeks abroad. Faculty members from Jackson State University will lead the program, including providing all instruction.<\/p>\n<p>During the program, students will enhance their classroom lectures with co-curricular and cultural site visits such as: tours, historical in nature, of several areas of the city, trips to the Golkonda; Salar Jung Museum and other iconic venues, visits to hospitals, pharmaceutical labs, government agencies and other amazing academic and cultural activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Cost<\/strong><br \/>\n$2,000 (does not include tuition)<br \/>\nAccommodations<br \/>\nAll meals (in country)<br \/>\nTransportation (in country)<br \/>\nExcursions, admission fees, cultural experiences, etc.<br \/>\niNext Comprehensive Travel Insurance<br \/>\n24\/7 Emergency Assistance<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuition: 6 credit hours<\/strong><br \/>\nUndergraduate: $1788 ($298.00 per hour)<br \/>\nGraduate:$2,382 ($397.00 per hour)<\/p>\n<p>* Financial aid can be applied to the program cost.
