Six hours of course instruction through two classes, 206 Art Appreciation and 430 Apprenticeship (Independent Study for non-majors), are<br \/>\n\tarranged for students to receive global training infused with the culture of Brazil from which participants will<br \/>\n\texpand their understanding and knowledge of the Arts while fulfilling tailored requirements. The classroom<br \/>\n\tenvironment will be extended into the Brazilian community to provide a unique research laboratory that significantly enhances course instruction based on cultural relevance. And upon completion of the program, students&nbsp; will receive 6 hours towards their degree. Through experiential learning, students will gain a new global perspective from interacting with the people of various communities, acquire vast historical knowledge and delve into the rich cultures of Salvador da Bahia, Rio de Janeiro and surrounding areas through guest lecturers, excursions and daily activities.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Program Overview<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Brazil: Experiencing Culture Through Art takes place during the first summer term at JSU. It is setup<br \/>\n\twith instruction being given for two weeks abroad, then completed online. Professor Kenyatta Stewart, will lead the program and provide all classroom instruction. During the program, students will enhance their classroom lectures with co-curricular and cultural site&nbsp;visits such as: tours, historical in nature, of several areas&nbsp;of the cities, Afro-Brazilian historical sites, trips to the&nbsp;iconic venues, cultural samba shows, favela visits,&nbsp;community service activities, museums and other amazing activities.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Program Fees<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>$1440<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tAccommodations\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tAll meals (in country)\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tTransportation (in country)\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tExcursions, admission fees, cultural\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\texperiences, instructional\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tmaterial fees, etc.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tComprehensive Travel Insurance\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t24\/7 Emergency Assistance\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Tution Cost<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Undergraduate<\/strong><br \/>\n\t6 Credit Hours: $2070<br \/>\n\t<strong>Graduate<\/strong><br \/>\n\t6 Credit Hours: $2760\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t*Financial aid can be applied to the tuition and program costs.
