\n\tAdmission Requirements
\n<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. \n\t\tAdmission is open to applicants with an undergraduate degree in engineering. Applicants with an undergraduate degree in a closely related field may be considered.\n\t<\/li>\n
  2. \n\t\tEngineering applicants may be admitted to the Graduate School as Regular Graduate Students, Qualifying Students, Conditional Students or Non-Degree Students.\n\t<\/li>\n
  3. \n\t\tAdmission requirements for each of these categories are outlined in the JSU Graduate Catalog.\n\t<\/li>\n
  4. \n\t\tApplicants may have to satisfy undergraduate coursework prerequisites as determined by their Department Chair Person and\/or Advisor.\n\t<\/li>\n
  5. \n\t\tSubmit Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score (Recommended but not required).\n\t<\/li>\n
  6. \n\t\tApplicants must meet all other admission requirements outlined in the JSU Graduate Catalog.\n\t<\/li>\n
  7. \n\t\tIn addition, international applicants must submit all documentation as outlined in the Graduate Catalog.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\tDegree Requirements
    \n<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. \n\t\tThirty (30), or thirty-six (36), semester hours are required for the Master of Science Degree in Engineering depending upon which of the following three options the student selects with approval of his or her department chairperson and\/or advisor:<\/p>\n
        \n
      • \n\t\t\t\tOption 1-Twenty four (24) semester hours of coursework plus a 6-hour thesis\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n
      • \n\t\t\t\tOption 2-Twenty seven (27) semester hours of coursework plus a 3-hour project\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n
      • \n\t\t\t\tOption 3-Thirty six (36) semester hours of coursework\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • \n\t\tOption 1 requires a formal written thesis, formal presentation and oral exam.\n\t<\/li>\n
      • \n\t\tOption 2 requires a written project report, formal presentation and oral exam.\n\t<\/li>\n
      • \n\t\tOption 3 requires an oral exam\n\t<\/li>\n
      • \n\t\tTo remain in “good standing”, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (“B” average).\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
