{"id":300,"date":"2012-08-06T21:27:31","date_gmt":"2012-08-06T21:27:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/gradadmissions\/?page_id=300"},"modified":"2022-06-14T18:49:59","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T18:49:59","slug":"degree-plan-for-doctoral-students","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/graduateschool\/degree-plan-for-doctoral-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Degree Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Graduate Degree Plan is to be used for advising purposes and\u00a0is not\u00a0required to be submitted\u00a0\u00a0to\u00a0the Graduate School.\u00a0 It is recommended however,\u00a0that doctoral students complete a Degree Plan, gain appropriate approval, and submit the document to the Graduate School to be placed in their\u00a0official file.<\/li>\n<li>The Graduate Degree Plan should be completed and submitted within the FIRST MONTH of enrollment in a degree program.\u00a0 This plan should\u00a0be made with the advice and concurrence of the major advisor and the graduate committee.\u00a0 Only courses appearing on the approved program will be counted toward fulfilling degree requirements.\u00a0 Changes in the program may be made, using standard change forms, with the approval of the same persons who approved the original program (or their appropriate successors).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Complete this form with your advisor.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (<a href=\"https:\/\/jsums.net\/forms\/DegPlan.html\">Click here for Degree Plan<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Required Information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Name, address, e-mail and telephone numbers.<\/li>\n<li>Degree and Major<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Section I.<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>List all courses to be completed as part of your degree. This is a contract between you and Jackson State University. \u00a0Go to <a href=\"2009-2011-graduate-catalog-volume-xvi-issue-2\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Graduate Catalog for Information<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If you plan to transfer graduate coursework from another college or university, list the course(s) here.
