and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Increase<\/strong> the interest in, and likelihood of, participating graduate students entering careers in biomedical sciences following degree and program completion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Objectives of the Graduate Training and Education Center<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish a graduate level certificate program focused on cardiovascular epidemiology research.<\/li>\n<li>Establish JHS data mentoring teams to oversee efforts by graduate students to analyze, present, and publish their research from Jackson Heart Study data.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the affiliated JHS Centers to assure coordination of the JHS Graduate Training and Education Center Program and support the JHS in achieving its five major aims.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the JHS Coordinating Center to develop and maintain a student database with evaluation metrics for student performance.<\/li>\n<li>Disseminate the achievements of the JHS through presentations, publications in peer-review journals, and reports to the JHS Coordinating Center, OSMB, and NHLBI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Goals of the Graduate Training and Education Center Enrich the educational experiences and skills of participating graduate students to prepare them for future careers in academics, industry, and government research settings;
