Du Bois Honors College Academic Advising Aide (<b>TRIPLE A<\/b>) program is to provide exceptional paraprofessional assistance to the staff of the Honors College during peak registration periods. &nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p4\">\n\t\t<strong>Description of Academic Advising Aides (TRIPLE A):<\/strong>\n\t<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\t<strong>TRIPLE A<\/strong> members are current Honors College sophomores, juniors and seniors who are committed to student success at Jackson State University.\n\t<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\t<strong>TRIPLE A<\/strong> members spend time in the Honors College preparing for registration periods by ensuring that all items needed for advisement are stocked and ready for use by the&nbsp; Honors College staff.\n\t<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\t<strong>TRIPLE A <\/strong>members assist with the active registration process. TRIPLE A members greet new members, explain the curriculum and assist with proper course selection. Once course selection is complete, TRIPLE A members escort students to Honors College staff for final review and course entry.\n\t<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\tIn conjunction with the Academic Advisor, a select group of TRIPLE A members will have monthly informal JAMS (<span class=\"s1\">J<\/span>ust <span class=\"s1\">A<\/span>bout <span class=\"s1\">M<\/span>ath and <span class=\"s1\">S<\/span>cience) sessions with freshman Honors College members to discuss progress in Math and Science courses.&nbsp; Those who are struggling will be provided individual academic advisement and intervention.&nbsp; If necessary, they will be referred to study groups or tutorials.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"li3\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\n\t<strong>Program Objectives:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\tTo promote a positive registration experience for incoming Honors College&nbsp;freshmen\n\t<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\tTo expedite the registration process for new Honors College members\n\t<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\tTo forge beneficial relationships between current and new Honors College members\n\t<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\tTo develop a spirit of teamwork and cooperation among Honors College&nbsp;members\n\t<\/li>\n<li class=\"li3\">\n\t\tTo build professional leadership skills in Honors College members<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Academic Advising Aide (TRIPLE A) Mission Statement: The mission of the W.E.B.
