{"id":538,"date":"2013-07-03T14:17:34","date_gmt":"2013-07-03T20:17:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/hr\/?p=538"},"modified":"2013-07-03T14:17:34","modified_gmt":"2013-07-03T20:17:34","slug":"change-to-a-semi-monthly-pay-cycle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/hr\/2013\/07\/03\/change-to-a-semi-monthly-pay-cycle\/","title":{"rendered":"Change to a Semi-Monthly Pay Cycle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Effective July 1, 2013, all employees including students will be paid semi-monthly on the 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and the last day of each month for a total of 24 pays each year.\u00a0 The first semi-monthly payment will be July 15<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>This adjustment in pay cycle will allow the university to move from multiple pay periods and multiple pay types (faculty, monthly staff, students, and hourly staff) to a consolidated approach to payroll.\u00a0 Payroll consolidation offers the opportunity to increase functionality and reduce administrative costs.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of Payroll and The Division of Human Resources hosted several informational sessions regarding this change in the months of May and June. A link to the presentation if you need to review again or was unable to attend an information session can be found below.<\/p>\n<p>We also want to remind all employees to make any necessary arrangements with banks and creditors especially for those who have become accustomed to paying bills at the first of the month.\u00a0 You may find it necessary to adjust due dates and automatic bill-pay arrangements as a result of the University\u2019s conversion to a semi-monthly payroll.<\/p>\n<p>Also below is a calendar with the pay dates for the remainder of the year and a schedule of when transactions must be submitted to be effective on 15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0or last day of the month for review.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of Payroll and The Division of Human Resources will be available to answer any questions regarding this change.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Effective July 1, 2013, all employees including students will be paid semi-monthly on the 15th\u00a0and the last day of each month for a total of 24 pays each year.\u00a0 The first semi-monthly payment will be July 15th.
