Through engaging presentations, games, activities, information booths and more, our goal is to remind everyone to drive sober and be safe on Mississippi Roads.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>Core Program Components<\/h1>\n<h2>Presentations<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Effective, evaluation driven<\/li>\n<li>High School and College Level Students<\/li>\n<li>Includes Alcohol and Impaired Driving Content<\/li>\n<li>Pre and Post Prevention Evaluations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>Responsible Behavior<\/h1>\n<h2>We can all save lives by making smarter choices<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>If you use alcohol, designate a sober driver, call a cab, or use a ride sharing service<\/li>\n<li>Do Not Let Friends get behind the wheel if they are under the influence or alcohol<\/li>\n<li>If you are hosting a party where alcohol or other substances will be used, it is your job to make sure all guest leave with a sober driver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h1>AlImpaired Driving Fact<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Drivers who are between the ages of 16 and 20 years old are 10 times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash than drivers over the age of 21.<\/li>\n<li>Every day, about 28 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes \u2014 that&#8217;s one person every 52 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>A person is legally intoxicated if he or she has a Blood Alcohol Concentration of .08 or higher.<\/li>\n<li>In 2019, of all the automobile fatalities on Mississippi highways, 26% were related to drinking and driving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jackson State University Interdisciplinary Alcohol and Drug Studies Center is working with a grant from the Mississippi Office of Highway Safety to decrease the number of teen injuries and fatalities of youth 16 to 20 years-old due to drinking and driving.
