Three to five years of related experience is required in a\u00a0 relevant discipline, which includes but is not limited to Sociology,\u00a0 Psychology, Education, Engineering, Computer Science, Physical or\u00a0 Biological Sciences, or Mathematics.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Internal\u00a0 and external interactions are primary to this position; therefore, strong\u00a0 written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are required.\u00a0The successful applicant will have proficient knowledge of computer systems\u00a0 and applications, as well as mastery of communication via email and other\u00a0 electronic programs (i.e. video conferencing). Mastery of all Microsoft\u00a0 office products is required (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Proficient\u00a0 Accounting knowledge is required and experience managing budgets and financial reports using spreadsheets should be evident. Experience\u00a0 working with confidential information is required, and an understanding of\u00a0the discretion and judgment necessary for handling such information.<\/li>\n<li>This\u00a0 position requires initiative and the ability to accurately complete tasks on time, requiring little supervision; however, the individual should be a\u00a0 quick study, willing to ask questions when needed, and learn new\u00a0 information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">Manage\u00a0 the day-to-day implementation of the work plan for the grant and ensure it\u00a0 is on track to achieve specified goals and objectives;<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Plan\u00a0 and coordinate all meetings and events associated with the project.\u00a0 Plan and coordinate recruitment and\u00a0 professional development activities in collaboration with the Leadership\u00a0 Team and Advance Scholars.\u00a0 Coordinate\u00a0 all aspects of workshops, advisory group and event planning.\u00a0 This may include but is not limited to negotiating\u00a0 with vendors and caterers, scheduling conference rooms, setting up\u00a0 requirements, and making audio\/visual arrangements.\u00a0 Follow directions of the PI to coordinate<br \/>\nspeakers for various events and make travel arrangements.<\/li>\n<li>Establish\u00a0 and maintain efficient and effective information systems and means of\u00a0 communicating and disseminating information to all project stakeholders.\u00a0 Supervise the Advance web site and\u00a0 ensure that all materials are appropriate, current, and approved by the PI\u00a0 and\/or Committee Chair.\u00a0\u00a0Periodically run quality assurance to ensure that all content is accurate, functional and working as required.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure\u00a0 that compliance with all University policies and procedures, and all\u00a0 National Science Foundation regulations, policies and procedures is maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Develop efficient and effective means of acquiring, compiling, analyzing and managing various types of data from multiple sources.\u00a0 Ensure timely collection and assessment of evaluation data.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and organize all files, correspondence, and fiscal records.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the primary point of contact with the Advance grant and implement\u00a0systems to ensure that all fiscal commitments associated with the grant are met in a timely manner and approved by the JSU Office of Research.\u00a0 Oversee the fiscal processing of Advance expenditures, perform monthly\u00a0 reconciliation, and maintain monthly budget sheets.<\/li>\n<li>Produce\u00a0 monthly progress reports for the Principal Investigator; assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly reports for the National Science Foundation.<\/li>\n<li>Work\u00a0 in conjunction with the PI, the Advance Leadership Team, and the Internal Advisory Board to ensure the goals of the program are accomplished.\u00a0 Develop and nurture productive relationships with various units on campus to facilitate achievement of Advance goals including but not limited to Human Resources, Office of\u00a0 Institutional Research, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Office\u00a0 of Academic Affairs, and all Academic Departments and Colleges. Work with\u00a0 support personnel, such as an Administrative Assistant, Data Manager, Internal Evaluator, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Other\u00a0 duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator that may emerge as this new program matures.
