To this day Alpha Sigma Lambda is not only the oldest but also largest chapter-based honor society for full- &amp; part-time adult students.\n<\/p>\n<h2>\n\tChapter Advantages:<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tThe Alpha Sigma Lambda membership brings the camaraderie and prestige of America&rsquo;s only chapter-based honor society for nontraditional students. The benefits of membership include:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tReceiving recognition for your achievements as an adult student at the Honor&#039;s Convocation at the University.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tScholarship opportunities.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tBeing able to put membership of ASL on your resume.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tRecognition of academic performance.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tParticipation in service activities.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tInteraction with other students with similar interest.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tReceiving membership certificate, card, and lapel pin\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\n\tMembership Criteria:<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tStudents interested in attaining membership in the Xi Mu chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society must attend Jackson State University. Membership is strictly by invitation to the chapter.
