McCoy Auditorium.<\/strong>\u00a0Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Charles M. Payne, whose classic book\u00a0<em>I&#8217;ve Got the Light of Freedom: The Organizing Tradition and the Mississippi Freedom Struggle<\/em> will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. There also will be a poetry reading, moving performances from the JSU Music Department, and several guest speakers.<\/p>\n<p>Our For My People Awards luncheon will be held at <strong>11:30 a.m.<\/strong> in the <strong>JSU Student Center Ballroom A on Friday, January 17,<\/strong> following the convocation. Join us as we honor Dr. Charles Payne, Attorney Carroll Rhodes, and Rev. Dr. C.J. Rhodes with For My People awards and hear from important scholars and Jackson State student leaders. Tickets to purchase a meal are $25 and are available to purchase online on <a href=\"https:\/\/epay.jsums.edu\/C20107_ustores\/web\/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=999\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">JSU Marketplace<\/span><\/a>. JSU students may register for <strong>free<\/strong>.
