\"\"<\/a>Welcome to the Metro Jackson Community Prevention Coalition (MJCPC) Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services (SUPTRS) Block Grant. MJCPC is funded by the Mississippi Department of Mental\u00a0Health<\/a>, Bureau of Behavioral Health Services. \u00a0MJCPC has been funded, in\u00a0 part, for over 30 years by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. MJCPC\u2019s SUPTRS Block Grant is specifically focused on preventing the abuse and\/or misuse of alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs by youth, young adults and adults. This project develops and implements an age-appropriate, culturally relevant comprehensive prevention program within Jackson Public Schools, at Jackson State University and the Jackson Metropolitan Area.<\/p>\n

We hope you find the website helpful as you look for ways to gain awareness and knowledge of the nature and extent of alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drug misuse among individuals, families, and communities.<\/p>\n

Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant Project Overview<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Metro Jackson Community Prevention\u2019s\u00a0Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services (SUPTRS) Block Grant P<\/strong>roject<\/strong><\/i> is specifically focused on preventing the abuse and\/or misuse of prescription drugs, alcohol, and marijuana by youth, young adults, and adults in the Jackson metropolitan area.\u00a0\u00a0The project develops and implements an age-appropriate, culturally relevant comprehensive prevention program which includes a broad array of prevention strategies directed at individuals not identified to be in need of treatment. The project\u2019s services include prevention activities and services provided in a variety of settings for elementary through secondary schools, the Jackson State University campus, and the general population, as well as targeting sub-groups who are at high risk for substance abuse.\u00a0\u00a0The MJCPC SUPTRS Block Grant Project is funded through federal funds appropriated from the Mississippi Department of Mental Health<\/a> Bureau of Behavioral Health Services by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
