The quantitative data accessible here comes from the Quick Facts (v2019), which is comprised of data from the Bureau\u2019s Population Estimates, American Community Survey, Census of Population and Housing, Current Population Survey, Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates, State and County Housing Unit Estimates, Non-employer Statistics, and Economic Census. The qualitative data is sourced from a survey administered by MURC in the Winter of 2020\/2021 to city officials from the 25 cities. Survey questions were related to the cities\u2019 finances\/budget, community life, health, public services, COVID-19 impact, and other factors.<\/p>\n<p>This database is intended to inform social studies and policymaking for students, elected officials, non-profit organizations, and other public administrators, in order to promote evidence-based decision-making and improve the quality of life in Mississippi and beyond through research.
