Students choosing a career path in the Bachelor of Music Degree may specialize in one of the areas of emphasis:\u00a0music education,\u00a0music performance, jazz studies, or music technology.<\/p>\n<h3>Graduate<\/h3>\n<p>Master of Music Education students can pursue emphases in Elementary School, Secondary School (Choral, Instrumental, General), Junior College (Choral, Instrumental, and General and Comprehensive (Combined Integrated Areas of Study).\u00a0 These emphases in music education are designed for students who wish to pursue advanced study in preparation for university teaching, research, and other leadership roles in music education.<\/p>\n<p>Elementary School Music Education \u2022 Secondary School Music Education (choral, instrumental, general) \u2022 Junior College Music Education (choral, instrumental, general) \u2022 Comprehensive Music Education (combined, integrated areas of study)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Immunization Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/healthservices\/immunization-requirements\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/healthservices\/immunization-requirements\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1606333861189000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1_kn1RsPXamyp1_yQAb5Qw\">https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/healthservices\/immunization-requirements\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">All students admitted to Jackson State University are\u00a0required\u00a0to submit proof of having received two\u00a0immunization\u00a0shots for measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) in order to complete registration for classes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">If an applicant has already been admitted and plans to attend the University as a first-time student (undergraduate, graduate, or transfer), he\/she must submit a copy of the required immunization record to the University Health Center prior to registration for courses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students who have been admitted but do not submit the\u00a0required\u00a0immunization\u00a0verification will be unable to complete registration for classes in the school\u2019s computer enrollment system.
