This includes the institution\u2019s library.\u00a0 Please inquire with the facility\u00a0for\u00a0proctoring fees.\u00a0A local librarian may also serve as a proctor if testing at a two- or four-year college or university is not possible.\u00a0Other acceptable proctors include public or private school personnel, professors, or other professional staff persons. Please inquire with the facility\u00a0for\u00a0proctoring fees.\u00a0The student is responsible for paying proctoring fees.<\/p>\n<p>If located outside of the United States, military personnel (student) may take examinations under the supervision of a commissioned officer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/jsuonline\/files\/2013\/08\/Proctor-Identification-and-Approval-Request11.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Proctor Identification and Approval Request Form<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is required.\u00a0After the proctor has been approved, the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/jsuonline\/files\/2013\/08\/ProctorAgreement-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Proctor Agreement<\/a><\/strong> form should be completed and either faxed or emailed to jsuonline@jsums.edu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.6em;\">The following persons do not qualify as proctors:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Co-workers<\/li>\n<li>Friends<\/li>\n<li>Neighbors<\/li>\n<li>Relatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Option 2<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0in; border: 1ptrequ none windowtext; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-family: Arial;\">The test taker (student) may take the exam from home or any convenient location by using the SmarterProctoring online proctoring service.<\/span> <span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0in; border: 1ptrequ none windowtext; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-family: Arial;\">SmarterProctoring <\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-family: Arial;\">an on-demand, easy to use, low-cost alternative to testing centers, personal proctors, and other inconvenient methods of securing the online testing environment. Students can take tests at their convenience, in the comfort of their own homes, using their computer and a webcam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review<span style=\"color: #009bde;\"> <a style=\"color: #009bde;\" href=\"https:\/\/smarterproctoring.zendesk.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360048209372-Best-Practices-for-Automated-Proctoring-Updated-\">Best Practices for Automated Proctoring<\/a><\/span> prior to selecting this method of proctoring service.<\/li>\n<li>The student must review the <span style=\"color: #009bde;\"><a style=\"color: #009bde;\" href=\"https:\/\/smarterproctoring.zendesk.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360040976571-Getting-Started\">Getting Started Information<\/a><\/span>\u00a0before using this service.<\/li>\n<li>The equipment that will be used by the test taker must meet the following minimum<span style=\"color: #009bde;\"> <a style=\"color: #009bde;\" href=\"https:\/\/smarterproctoring.zendesk.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360041366691-System-Requirements\">system requirements<\/a>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>Desktop or laptop computer (Mac or Windows based PC). Chromebooks are also acceptable.\n<ul>\n<li>iPads, tablets, phones and other mobile devices are not compatible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Google Chrome web browser, version 74 or higher.<\/li>\n<li>Webcam (internal or external)<\/li>\n<li>Microphone (internal or external)<\/li>\n<li>The SmarterProctoring automated system requires a stable Internet connection in order to successfully complete your exam.
