This academic program prepares candidates to initiate methods of action research while utilizing technology to collect and analyze data extracted from both formal and informal assessments. Candidates will gain insight on utilizing individual and collective data to guide differentiate instruction. The course content will provide expertise in diagnosing causes of reading deficiencies and prescribing developmentally appropriate methods and materials to optimize student success. A total of 30 graduate credit hours are required to earn a Master of Science in Reading Education.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>General Admission Requirements<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #009bde;\"><a style=\"line-height: 1.6em; color: #009bde;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/graduateschool\/prospective-students-home\/\">General and International Students<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Program Admission Requirements<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each candidate must also complete an <span style=\"color: #009bde;\"><a style=\"color: #009bde;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/earlyeducation\/files\/2015\/02\/Masters-of-Science-in-Reading-Education-Application-Packet-1.pdf\">admission packet<\/a> <\/span>from the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education.
