{"id":845,"date":"2015-09-28T15:04:58","date_gmt":"2015-09-28T15:04:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/psychology\/?page_id=845"},"modified":"2016-07-29T23:45:14","modified_gmt":"2016-07-29T23:45:14","slug":"clinical-psychology-doctoral-program-goals-and-objectives","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/psychology\/ph-d-in-clinical-psychology-student-admission-outcomes-and-other-data\/clinical-psychology-doctoral-program-goals-and-objectives\/","title":{"rendered":"Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program Goals and Objectives"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\n\t<strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The mission of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Jackson State University (JSU) is supported by the following goals and objectives:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<div id=\"content\">\n<div>\n<p>\n\t\t\t<strong>Goal #1:<\/strong> <strong>To produce graduates who are skilled in the science, theory and practice of psychology.<\/strong>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tObjective #1: Students will acquire knowledge of psychology as a scientific discipline.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tObjective #2: Students will acquire knowledge of and skills to conduct and evaluate empirical research in professional psychology.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tObjective #3: Students will have an entry level competence in assessment and treatment approaches supported by theory and empirical practice.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t<strong>Goal #2:<\/strong> <strong>Students will increase awareness, knowledge, and skills in multiculturalism in professional psychology.<\/strong>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tObjective #1: To increase the number of clinical psychologist who are knowledge about the impact of multiculturalism in professional psychology.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tObjective #2: To educate trainees about multicultural specific training related to the psychology of African Americans.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t<strong>Goal #3:<\/strong> To <strong>produce graduates who have the requisite knowledge and skills to conduct their work in accordance with ethical, legal, and professional standards in their practice and research.<\/strong>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tObjective #1: To increase the number of graduates who display ethical, legal, and professional behavior in their practice and research.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t<strong>Goal #4:<\/strong> <strong>To produce students that will engage in clinical and research experiences involving the diverse psychological health and service needs of ethnic minority populations.<\/strong>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tObjective #1: To increase the number of students capable of planning and conducting research that includes multiculturalism.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tObjective #2: To increase the number of students capable geof providing psychological services to ethnic minority populations.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t&nbsp;\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The mission of the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Jackson State University (JSU) is supported by the following goals and objectives: Goal #1: To produce graduates who are skilled in the science, theory and practice of psychology.
