\n\tNumerous PPAD students and faculty members are participating the 45th Annual Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA) from today (2\/17) to Friday (2\/19). They are organizers, volunteers, and presenters. During the 1st day of conference, multiple sessions were organized by the PPAD faculty, and PPAD students presented their research results for the conference.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"Staten\"<\/a>Ms. Carmela F. Staten<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/span>(PhD) gave a presentation on minority voting (title: Group theory and zits relationship to voting disenfranchisement of minority voters.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"Johnson\"<\/a>Mr. Lamar C. Johnson, Sr<\/strong>. (PhD) gave a talk on city decline (title: Case study of Jackson Metropolitan statistical area inner city decline due to ring cities growth).  <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"Mahoney\"<\/a>Ms. Wendy Mahoney<\/strong> <\/span>(PhD) gave her presentation on domestic violence (title: <\/span>Domestic violence as a public health problem: the economic impact in Mississippi, <\/span>presentation file<\/a>). <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"Dr.<\/a>Professor Gloria Billingsley<\/strong>, as the COMPA President, gave welcoming speech at the beginning of the conference, and  and hosted the President's welcome reception at the JSU downtown campus in the evening.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\t \n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition,<\/span>Ms. Tomikia Smith-Garrett <\/strong>(MPPA) gave a presentation on health care (title: The Affordable Health Care Act and citizens), and <\/span>Mr. Ron Fulgham<\/strong> (MPPA) on social equity (title: Sunshine laws and transparency foster social equity).<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"DrHines<\/a>  Further, professor Andre Hines<\/strong> (in pic) and her student volunteers worked hard to provide superb services to the conference participants.  Professor Sylvester Murray<\/strong> served as a panel moderator.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
