{"id":2837,"date":"2018-02-15T15:01:06","date_gmt":"2018-02-15T15:01:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/?p=2837"},"modified":"2018-02-16T10:14:32","modified_gmt":"2018-02-16T10:14:32","slug":"ppad-students-and-faculty-member-attended-the-2018-mississippi-political-science-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/2018\/02\/15\/ppad-students-and-faculty-member-attended-the-2018-mississippi-political-science-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"PPAD Students and Faculty Present their Research at the 2018 Mississippi Political Science Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tDr. Jae-Young Ko, PPAD Associate Professor and six students presented their research at the&nbsp;Annual Conference of Mississippi Political Science Association at Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi on&nbsp;February 9<sup>th<\/sup> and 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 2018.&nbsp; Dr. Ko served as President of the Association for the 2017-2018 term.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Mr. John Proctor <\/strong>(doctoral student) attended two roundtable sessions. <strong>Ms. Symone Bounds<\/strong> (doctoral student) presented her research on training on the reduction of inconsistencies in the State of Mississippi small purchase program. <strong>Ms. Wendy Mahoney<\/strong> (doctoral student) discussed the teen dating violence in Mississippi.&nbsp;<strong>Ms. Adrieme Walker<\/strong> (doctoral student) talked about impacts of&nbsp;women legislators on public policy of women issues in Arizona and Mississippi. <strong>Ms. Denita Jones<\/strong> (doctoral student) gave her research on mental health aftercare for juvenile offenders. <strong>Ms. Shelia Malone<\/strong> (master student) shared her research on health disparities in the rural Mississippi.
