{"id":903,"date":"2015-02-14T22:09:29","date_gmt":"2015-02-14T22:09:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/?p=903"},"modified":"2015-02-18T17:15:07","modified_gmt":"2015-02-18T17:15:07","slug":"ms-jermesha-haywood-gave-a-presentation-for-the-annual-conference-of-mississippi-political-science-association","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/2015\/02\/14\/ms-jermesha-haywood-gave-a-presentation-for-the-annual-conference-of-mississippi-political-science-association\/","title":{"rendered":"Ms. Jermesha Haywood gave a presentation for the annual conference of Mississippi Political Science Association"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/02\/Haywood-jermesha.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Haywood jermesha\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-901\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/02\/Haywood-jermesha.jpg\" style=\"float: left\" width=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/02\/Haywood-jermesha.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/02\/Haywood-jermesha-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/02\/Haywood-jermesha-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;Ms. Jermesha Haywood (MPPA) gave a presentation (title: An assessment of &nbsp;ruling political party&#039;s role for community development in the Mississippi Delta &nbsp;region)&nbsp;for the annual conference of Mississippi Political Science Association, held &nbsp;at&nbsp;Jackson State University, Feb. 13-14, 2015.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;With professor Jae-Young Ko, she has been&nbsp;analyzing the impacts of the ruling &nbsp;political party&#039;s (governor&#039;s) regional develpment plans for the region for the &nbsp;period of the 1970s to the present. &nbsp;Their preliminary results showed that the &nbsp;policy&nbsp;impacts have&nbsp;been limited, as shown in ever-declining population of&nbsp;two &nbsp;counties in the region, and concluded that new plan, which &nbsp;is&nbsp;locality-centered, and environmental sustainable, should be considered.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSince joining the MPPA program at JSU, her academic performance has been outstanding. &nbsp;She has been recipients of 1st place, 3rd place, and 2nd place for&nbsp;the semi-annual JSU Public Policy Student Symposium in&nbsp;Fall 2013, Spring 2014, and Fall 2014, respectively. &nbsp;She gave a presentation for the Southeastern Conference of Public Administration (SECOPA;&nbsp;title: Social media&#039;s impacts on local non-profit organizatonal management) in September 17-20, 2014.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFurther, her&nbsp;paper worked with professor Jae-Young Ko on conflict management among stakeholders for&nbsp;coastal management is now under review for a peer reviwed journal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;Ms. Jermesha Haywood (MPPA) gave a presentation (title: An assessment of &nbsp;ruling political party&#039;s role for community development in the Mississippi Delta &nbsp;region)&nbsp;for the annual conference of Mississippi Political Science Association, held &nbsp;at&nbsp;Jackson State University, Feb. 13-14, 2015.&nbsp;
