{"id":994,"date":"2015-04-18T18:58:58","date_gmt":"2015-04-18T18:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/?p=994"},"modified":"2015-06-09T18:56:20","modified_gmt":"2015-06-09T18:56:20","slug":"jsu-academy-for-research-and-scholarly-engagement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/2015\/04\/18\/jsu-academy-for-research-and-scholarly-engagement\/","title":{"rendered":"JSU Academy for Research and Scholarly Engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/04\/IMG_0095_resized.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"IMG_0095_resized\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-995\" height=\"269\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/04\/IMG_0095_resized.jpg\" style=\"float: left\" width=\"359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/04\/IMG_0095_resized.jpg 359w, https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/publicpolicy\/files\/2015\/04\/IMG_0095_resized-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 359px) 100vw, 359px\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\">\n\t&nbsp; Professor Chester Robinson and Professor Jae- &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Young &nbsp;Ko attended &nbsp;the closing ceremony&nbsp;and reception of &nbsp;the JSU &nbsp;Academy for Research &nbsp;and Scholarly &nbsp;Engagement on &nbsp;April 17, 2015. &nbsp;The JSU Center for &nbsp;University Scholars &nbsp;and the Division of Research and &nbsp;Federal Relations &nbsp;have been operating&nbsp;a year-long &nbsp;training &nbsp;program of research proposal &nbsp;development&nbsp;for &nbsp;the JSU faculty &nbsp;members. &nbsp;Since &nbsp;its &nbsp;beginning in &nbsp;2012, the &nbsp;program has trained 76 JSU &nbsp;scholars, and&nbsp;&nbsp;about 30 &nbsp;proposals were developed and &nbsp;submitted&nbsp; from the &nbsp;faculty members attending the training program for the &nbsp;first two years, &nbsp;generating&nbsp;external fundings of &nbsp;approximately $950,000. <span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 20.8000011444092px\">&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/researchscholaracademy\/spotlight-iii-daythree\/#robinson\" style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 1.6em\">Professor Robinson<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 1.6em\">&nbsp;and&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/researchscholaracademy\/spotlight-iii-daytwo\/#ko\" style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 1.6em\">Professor &nbsp;Ko<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 1.6em\">&nbsp;<\/span>are among the twenty-three faculty members of Research Cohort III &nbsp;for 2014-2015.
