Welcome to the SOAR Summer Series on P&T Strategy Studio<\/strong>! These sessions are designed to support tenure-track faculty\u2014especially those preparing for third-year review or promotion to associate or full professor\u2014as they navigate the expectations, timelines, and documentation processes for promotion and tenure at Jackson State University.<\/span><\/p>\n

All sessions will be hosted on Zoom and will include time for Q&A. Recordings and resources will be added to this page following each session.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<\/p>\n

Session 1: Laying the Groundwork \u2013 Understanding P&T at JSU<\/span><\/h5>\n

This session introduces the expectations and processes surrounding promotion and tenure at JSU. We\u2019ll cover university and college-level guidelines, the PDF dossier structure, and suggested tools for organizing your materials. You\u2019ll get practical guidance on timelines, third-party documentation (such as SIRS and annual evaluations), and how to start drafting your narratives. This is a great session for anyone looking to build a strong foundation for third-year review or promotion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Session 2: Crafting the Narrative \u2013 Building a Strong Dossier<\/span><\/h5>\n

This session focuses on the art of dossier construction. We\u2019ll review how to make your CV work for you, write effective narratives for each CAPT section, and support your letter writers. We\u2019ll also explore how to address disruptions and growth\u2014including ways to document your COVID-19 story and explain challenges or gaps in your record. Participants are encouraged to bring drafts or examples for discussion. Those interested in piloting the Canvas P&T structure can express interest here.<\/span><\/p>\n

Session 3: Canvas Dossier Pilot Orientation<\/span><\/h5>\n

This session is for faculty interested in piloting the new Canvas LMS P&T dossier structure. We’ll walk through the Canvas shell, explain how to organize documents by category and year, and answer questions about transitioning from traditional to digital portfolios.<\/span><\/p>\n
