Jackson State University-Academic First Time Freshman Scholarship
  • First Time Freshman Academic Scholarships based upon CPC GPA and ACT/SAT Composite scores.

Presidential Academic Scholarship

Requirements: Incoming Freshman, College Preparatory Curriculum GPA of 3.50 (as calculated by Undergraduate Admissions); ACT score of 28 or above or the SAT score of 1300 and above. Covers: Full Tuition, Room and Board, Fees (mailbox, student activity, capital improvement, and non-resident state fees) and $750 per semester for books (campus only). Scholarship may be renewed for 3 years if an institutional GPA of 3.25 and 30 credit hours are maintained each academic year.

Full Academic Scholarship

Requirements: Incoming Freshmen, College Preparatory Curriculum GPA of 3.0 (as calculated by Undergraduate Admissions); ACT score of 25-27 or SAT score of 1200-1290. Covers: Full Tuition, Room and Board (campus charges only). Scholarship may be renewed for 3 years if an institutional GPA of 3.25 and 30 credit hours are maintained each academic year. This scholarship does not cover non-resident or other fees.

Tuition Academic Scholarship

Requirements: Incoming Freshmen, College Preparatory Curriculum GPA of 3.0 (as calculated by Undergraduate Admissions); ACT score of 23-24, or SAT score of 1130-1190. Covers: Tuition only. Scholarship may be renewed for 3 years if an institutional GPA of 3.0 and 30 credit hours are maintained each academic year. This scholarship does not cover non-resident or other fees.

Leadership Award Scholarship

Requirements: College Preparatory Curriculum GPA of 3.0 (as calculated by Undergraduate Admissions); ACT score of 21-22, or SAT score of 1060-1120. Covers: $1,000 per academic year. Scholarship may be renewed for 3 years if an institutional GPA of 3.00 and 30 credit hours are maintained each academic year. This scholarship does not cover non-resident or other fees.

NOTE: (1) Scholarship requirements are subject to change without prior notice; (2) GPA requirements are based on a 4.0 scale; (3) Submitting this application does not guarantee scholarship approval; and (4) offers are based upon availability of funds.


Community College Transfer
Jackson State University-Academic Transfer Scholarship

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Requirements: Community/Junior College graduate; cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher with a minimum of 60 transferable credit hour; must have an AA degree from an accredited community college; and must provide verification of active membership in Phi Theta Kappa. Covers: Full Tuition, room and board (campus only), non-resident fee and other fees, and $500 per semester for books.

Community/Junior College Tuition Scholarship

Requirements: Community/Junior College graduate; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher with a minimum of 60 transferable credit hours; must have an AA degree from an accredited community college. Covers: Full Tuition only. This scholarship does not cover non-resident fee or other fees.
