Both general and special educators are eligible. Participants can seek a Master of Science in Special Education, Visually Impaired Concentration Degree or the Mississippi K-12 Add-on Endorsement. Graduates will be profession-ready teachers who understand:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the unique educational needs and appropriate decisions for research-based interventions,<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0specialized curricula,<\/li>\n<li>modifications and accommodations in the learning environment,<\/li>\n<li>transition needs of\u00a0\u00a0children with visual impairments to live independently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/specialedu\/files\/2021\/05\/M.S.-in-SPED-VI-ConcentrationNarrative.pdf\"><strong>Master\u2019s Degree:<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The program requires successful completion of 39 credit hours.\u00a0Twenty-seven of the 39 credit hours consists of specialized\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/specialedu\/files\/2021\/05\/JSU-DS2-TVI-Project-Curriculum-Sheet.pdf\">coursework<\/a>, with 12 hours of core coursework.
