{"id":494,"date":"2014-07-15T12:06:13","date_gmt":"2014-07-15T12:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/staffhandbook\/?page_id=494"},"modified":"2016-07-05T21:06:46","modified_gmt":"2016-07-05T21:06:46","slug":"4-17-information-technology-it-purchasing-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.jsums.edu\/staffhandbook\/4-17-information-technology-it-purchasing-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"4.17  INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) PURCHASING POLICY"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t<strong>Purchasing a Computer<\/strong>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\n\tThe Department of Computing and Communications&nbsp;(DCC) has developed this (POLICY 4.17) standard guide to assist faculty, staff, and administration in selecting computer hardware and software that&rsquo;s supported by Information Technology.&nbsp; Below is a list of desktop and notebook computers with minimum specifications that DCC recommends.&nbsp; This equipment was carefully researched and selected to reduce the cost of administrative computing at Jackson State University.
