The Harden Center for Service at Jackson State University strives to encourage all students towards improving the human condition through civic engagement. <\/span><\/p>\n

Community Service is actively engaging students in volunteer work designed to improve the community while developing leadership and social skills. Serving in the community helps students learn what challenges communities face and see how their work furthers the community\u2019s goals. It also helps build valuable relationships with the people whom you serve. Through Community Service students will discover their passions, build leadership skills, and cultivate positive change. The energy and interests of this vast network of generous individuals are\u00a0organized to increase the capacity of all entities at the university through service.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Project Approvals for\u00a0Student Orgs & Campus Departments:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/strong><\/b><\/span>his form is for student organizations and approved campus departments, only. <\/strong><\/b>The purpose of the service project approval form is to obtain approval for any organization or department issuing community service hours for projects or special events. Note, our office does not provide volunteers for your project or special event; this approval process\u00a0simply verifies your project has met all requirements to\u00a0be promoted to students for service credit.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0<\/strong><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Before the project:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/b>All service\u00a0projects must be submitted online at least\u00a0two weeks prior<\/strong> to anticipated\u00a0project.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After the project:<\/strong>\u00a0Sign-in forms must be submitted\u00a0within three (3) days<\/strong> of the final date of your\u00a0service project.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
