On January 1, 2022, test prerequisites will be reinstated and students must again adhere to all requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

To complete the teacher education program and apply for an initial license in Mississippi, students must meet the following requirements:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Complete all required teacher education program coursework, including the student teaching semester<\/p>\n

Complete all major requirements in the major of the license sought.<\/p>\n

Maintain an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher.<\/p>\n

Earn at least a “C” in all required teacher education courses.<\/p>\n

Pass the Mississippi Educator Licensure Exams Praxis CASE,\u00a0 ACT Test score of 21 or better, or\u00a0SAT\u00a0equivalent score,\u00a0and Praxis II (PLT & content area exam).\u00a0 \u00a0(Effective since July 1, 2016, the Foundations of Reading Test will be\u00a0required for Elementary Education licensure, 229 passing score)<\/em><\/strong> <\/u><\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 SAT EQUIVALENT SCORES TO ACT – January 2017<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
