ADMISSION TO TEACHER EDUCATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Admission to Teacher Education Application Process Recommendations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Candidate Application Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Contact\/meet with faculty mentor (departmental advisor) to ensure that you qualify for admission to Teacher Education. During this initial meeting, you should ensure that your faculty mentor completes and signs your\u00a0Core Curriculum for Admission to Teacher Education form <\/strong>reflecting your core coursework and your\u00a0Curriculum Sheet<\/strong>.\u00a0 Your faculty mentor is responsible for uploading your signed Core Curriculum for Admission to Teacher Education form and Curriculum Sheet<\/em>\u00a0during the application approval process.<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. You will need to complete and sign all required documents.<\/li>\n
  3. Copy of your highest scores (including sub scores) on the ACT, SAT, or PRAXIS CORE examination<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    *Optional Under Covid-19 Waiver<\/em>\u00a0Copy of your signed\u00a0Licensure Advisory Form<\/a>\u00a0[click on link to complete]<\/p>\n

    Each of the aforementioned documents will need to be scanned to a digital format for submission to the Center for Teacher Quality via email at teacherquality@jsums.edu<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0Once your application and all supporting documents have been reviewed, you will receive an email indicating whether it has been approved, denied, or pending submission of additional documents.<\/p>\n

    \u201cAn applicant for licensure who completed a traditional teacher preparation program who was unconditionally admitted to an undergraduate traditional teacher preparation program under the State Board of Education\u2019s COVID-19 program admission test rule suspension on or before December 31, 2021, will not be held to program admission testing requirement as established in Miss. Code Ann. \u00a7 37-3-2 provided a complete application for licensure is received in the MDE Division of Educator Licensure on or before July 31, 2023.\u201d https:\/\/www.mdek12.org\/COVID19<\/em><\/p>\n
