Epsilon Pi Tau

The Delta Beta chapter at Jackson State University promotes academic and professional excellence. One of two distinct chapters in the state of Mississippi, Delta Beta continues to hold annual inductions. It has assisted its fellow Mississippi Chapter with chapter initiations, and hosted the 2010 Exemplary Induction during the ATMAE Annual Conference (Panama City Beach, FL). The purpose and mission of Epsilon Pi Tau Technology Honor Society are listed below:

The Purpose

  1. To promote and recognize the achievement of academic excellence.
  2. Promote the values and contributions of professionals in technology.
  3. Appreciate and become aware of technology as both an enduring and influential human endeavor and an integral element of culture.

The Mission

  1. To encourage academic excellence of students in fields devoted to the general study of technology and the preparation of practitioners for the technology professions.
  2. Recognizes and advances the work of faculty and administrative leaders in higher education academic fields and programs for the general study of technology and programs devoted to career preparation for specific fields in the technology professions.
  3. Recognizes and advances the professional work of practitioners in the technology professions.
  4. Provide services that contribute to the career advancement of its members.
  5. Fosters, encourages and recognizes individuals throughout society to develop and act upon interests in the phenomenon of technology.

Chapter Activities

  1. Annual Chapter Induction of new members
  2. JSU‐Street Jam (Homecoming Fundraising Activities)
  3. Community Service (I‐pad training for 17 pastors of Jackson, MS area churches)
  4. Community Service (Methodist Children Home in Jackson, MS)
