AUTM, a global nonprofit whose members support the commercialization of academic research, welcomed Almesha L. Campbell, Ph.D., as AUTM chair-elect, the first black person to serve on the Board, and as chair-elect. Campbell is assistant vice president for Research and Economic Development at Jackson State University (JSU) and previously served on the AUTM Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and the Women Inventors Special Interest Group prior to her election to the AUTM Board.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Jackson State University has landed a $25,000 \u201cvisionary\u201d prize for its pre-accelerator healthcare-focused program known as EnRICH (Engaging Researchers and Innovators for Commercialization at HBCUs). The award was earned during the recent Lab-To-Market (L2M) Inclusive Innovation Ecosystem Prize competition. Funding partners are the U.S. Small Business Administration and the National Science and Technology Council\u2019s L2M subcommittee.<\/div>\n
