City of Jackson officials provided a water update on Sunday, Feb. 28. Based on the information released and our ongoing assessments, we believe JSU will see a gradual increase in water pressure and availability by the weekend.<\/p>\n

Due to the city’s current low water pressure, the University is experiencing intermittent cooling issues, and we are working quickly to resolve this situation.<\/p>\n

As we monitor new developments, we will continue our progress stabilizing water services for the campus community.<\/p>\n

As water pressure is restored,\u00a0students<\/strong><\/u>, who have secured alternative living accommodations, will be able to return to campus.<\/p>\n

At that time, you will need to check-in at the front desk of your assigned Residence Hall.<\/p>\n

Employees<\/strong><\/u>, please note, as water pressure returns to parts of the city, employees at other JSU campus locations may be required to report to work in person.\u00a0However, we will update accordingly as the situation develops.<\/p>\n

Again, we understand the concerns shared by students and employees. We are diligently working to ensure that you have considerations and resources amid an unprecedented time in our University’s history.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Dalton St. gate is temporarily closed. We ask that all employees and students use the entrance near the AAC for entering and exiting the campus.<\/p>\n

Mid-term examinations will be held March 8-12.<\/span><\/div>\n

Again, we understand that this is an adverse time for students. The academic environment compounded by the Covid-19 pandemic and the city’s water crisis can be overwhelming.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Latasha Norman Center is available for free telehealth sessions to any student enrolled at JSU.<\/p>\n

They are also accepting members for their\u00a0stress management group.<\/p>\n

JSU has partnered with META teletherapy, the nation\u2019s first teletherapy app for college students<\/p>\n

META teletherapy further assists students with mental health counseling. META is the nation\u2019s first teletherapy app built specifically for college students, offering real-time video counseling with licensed mental health professionals.<\/p>\n

For direct deposit, please allow 3-5 days for receipt. Delivery time varies by bank.
