Promoting Research Excellence Through Capacity Building

OBJECTIVES

Four interrelated and mutually reinforcing learning themes comprise Research and Engagement:

(1) engage and connect scholars with local, state, and federal funding sources,

(2) develop more grant writing workshops to work with individuals, covering the entire grant writing process from idea formation to submission,

(3) facilitate scholarship and excellence in improving grant writing, publications, and fellowship opportunities and

(4) provide support through external organizations.

GOALS FY 2023-2024

  • Develop multidisciplinary research teams.
  • Facilitate and host the Research Engagement Week Symposium. 
  • Host monthly Strategies for Writing Winning Proposal workshops (invited guests).
  • Host NSF NRT/IGE Workshops for R2 HBCUs (grant-funded).
  • Host grant writing workshops.
