Leo U. Ukpong, Ph.D
Biography
Dr. Ukpong has been in academia for thirty years. During this period, he taught Finance and Economics courses, held several academic administrative positions, and published in reputable journals. In addition to his educational experiences, he held non-academic positions with organizations such as IBM, the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia, and the City of Philadelphia. His research interests include financial economics, portfolio
analysis, risk management, exchange rate policies, commodity derivative markets, and petroleum/environmental economics. Dr. Ukpong holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Economics from Alabama A&M University, an MBA in Finance from State University of New York, an M.Sc. in Petroleum Economics, and a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been with COB, JSU since Spring 2024.
