What is AFROTC?

Air Force ROTC is a college program that combines your academic degree with military education, leadership practice, and physical fitness. Students in the program are called cadets. Det 006 is your local team of instructors and cadets—the people who guide you through that experience.

Cadets who complete their degree, AFROTC training, and all commissioning requirements can earn a commission as a second lieutenant. Enrollment alone does not guarantee a commission.

What can AFROTC offer you?

During college

Leadership experience, mentorship from military officers, a team of fellow students, and opportunities to build confidence, fitness, and communication skills. You take AFROTC classes and participate in leadership laboratory and physical training alongside your college courses.
